Story
In Expeditions Rome RPG, the player takes control over a young Legatus, whose father has been murdered by a mysterious political enemy, which forces him to escape Rome and join a campaign against Greek rebels. As time progresses, Legatus gains more and more experience, which gives him more trust and respect amongst other soldiers while enforcing the will of Rome. With every battle won, the truth behind that mysterious murder draws nearer and nearer.
Gameplay
As the player tries to find answers to the Legatus' father untimely death, the characters very well known in all Roman Games are present, such as Caesar or Cleopatra. Those characters appear in the game, but the player's decisions have the most significant impact on the world - they are behind every dramatic alteration in history. Let Caesar and Cleopatra have their romance while the Legatus strengthens the Empire.
The game has two separate battle systems: legionary battles and story missions. In legionary clashes, the player chooses a leading Centurion and prepares the strategy and the army before the encounter. Moreover, the fights can go either way, so the player needs to adapt and make strategic decisions. In the latter, the player controls a small squad of soldiers to defeat an enemy, but some missions do not require any combat. Planning before can decide whether the encounter will be difficult or a piece of cake.
